About us
Empowered Therapy is an outpatient counseling clinic located in Janesville, Wisconsin. We work with individuals, couples, and family systems. We strive to offer a welcoming environment where folks feel validated and supported. Empowered Therapy uses evidence based treatments and each counselor has their own approach to counseling. Additionally, all of our providers are body positive, neurodivergent affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming. Our team is dedicated to helping you work through areas of concern and aid you in making long lasting changes.
Empowered Therapy is unlike other mental health clinics, our clinic fosters autonomy and freedom for our counselors to practice how best fits their style. As a result, we are completely run and operated by counselors. We do not have a receptionist, all of your communication will be with a counselor or a trained mental health professional. How do I schedule an appointment?Contact us directly by emailing counseling@empoweredtherapyll.com or call 608-302-6395. Email is always the fastest form of communication, as we do not have a receptionist. If you have completed intake paperwork, please go to https://empoweredtherapyllc.clientsecure.me/sign-in and request an appointment or email your therapist once the paperwork has been completed. It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment.

Intake paperwork?All intake paperwork is completed online through our software, Simple Practice. In order to receive the paperwork, you must contact counseling@empoweredtherapyllc.com or email your preferred therapist. Once we have your information, you will receive a link in your email to complete paperwork. After completing the paperwork, please use Simple Practice to request an appointment or contact your therapist directly. Completing intake paperwork does not guarantee an appointment, we want to ensure our therapist are the right match and can meet your needs.

Where are you located?We are located on the north east side of Janesville (past Walgreens, heading towards the city of Milton). Our address is: 4465 Milton Ave Ste 107 Janesville, WI 53546 When you arrive for your appointment, please have a seat in our lobby. We do not have a receptionist and your therapist will be with you as soon as they can.

What happens during the first appointment?When you arrive for your first appointment, you will not be greeted by a receptionist. Instead, we have a lobby where you can wait quietly until your therapist is ready to see you. We offers a coffee bar, tea, water, and candy. Please help yourself! During your first appointment, we complete an intake. The therapist will ask you a lot of background questions such as: what brings you into therapy, goals of therapy, family history of mental health, background information, history of trauma, and substance use. Your therapist will be understanding if you aren't ready to answer some of those questions and it's okay to let us know what you will and won't talk about.

Will my health insurance cover therapy?Most insurance companies do cover therapy. However, there may be out of pocket costs such as a co-pay or if you haven’t met your deductible yet. Please contact your health insurance directly if you have questions about what services are covered and the cost. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem, Dean, Quartz, United Behavioral Health/UHC, Humana, Alliance, UMR, WPS, Cigna, and Medicaid. Some providers accept Icare. Currently we DO NOT accept Aenta, or Beacon. Some of our providers are not in network with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid.

Can I pay out of pocket?Yes! Please contact us directly if you are interested in paying out of pocket. You can discuss with the therapist of your choice pricing options and we often offer reduced rates. Please note, we require payment at the time of your appointment.

How do I pay balances owed?We collect balances due immediately when your claim has been processed and this is done through the credit card stored on file. Please speak directly to your therapist if this method of payment does not work for you. You may contact us directly at 608-302-6395 or make payments online through your client portal (see the link below). How long will the process take?Everyone’s needs are different! Some people feel better after just 5-8 sessions. Others spend 6 months to a year in therapy. No journey is the same.

How long before I can be seen?We do our best to have your inital appointment within two weeks of contacting us. However, at times there may be a waitlist and times may vary.

Do you provide video appointments?Yes, we do! We want to make therapy as accessible as we can. For your appointment, you will receive a link in your email or by text to login to our software. There's no need to download an app.
